Help the Cubiforms build sustainable cities
Greetings, Mission Commander!
The Cubiforms, a friendly group of humanoids, need your help building cities!
Designed as an educational iPad game to teach systems-thinking, this city building simulation puts players in charge of planning out…well, the planet!
Broken up into a variety of interesting levels, players will need to build intelligently and sustainably to achieve their goals. Across each mission, players will earn research credits and unlock new buildings.
Responsibilities
Design Generalist, Team of 8 for ~1 Year
Level Design
A majority of the game’s levels were designed, built and had playtests driven by me.
Each level tests players in new ways, adding new mechanics and other hindrances to make balancing a little city that much harder.
Systems Design
In addition to the moment to moment systems of building, placing and the Cubiform roles, I was also responsible for designing the tech tree.
Additionally, this game was designed to be part of a larger ecosystem of educational games, where playing one would give rewards within Planet Planners.
Content Design
I wrote a majority of the dialogue, implemented nearly all cutscenes, and was responsible for most other content in the game.
